A 26-year-old Ghanaian man living in Oklahoma City in the United States, Jeff Kofi Asare, has reportedly been arrested three times within a 12-day period in connection with separate allegations involving sexual offences.
According to reports from GhanaWeb and other media outlets, Asare was arrested on August 1, August 6 and August 12, 2026, following separate incidents investigated by authorities in Oklahoma.
The first arrest reportedly occurred on August 1 in connection with an alleged sexual battery incident. He was subsequently arrested again on August 6 following another allegation.
On August 12, Asare was reportedly arrested for a first-degree rape charge, following an incident involving another woman.
Reports indicate that the latest allegation occurred along the Lake Hefner Trail in Oklahoma City. Local firefighters reportedly witnessed the incident and contacted police, after which officers arrested Asare.
A local court has reportedly set a $75,000 bond in connection with the first-degree rape charge, while prosecutors have sought a higher bond because of the allegations involving multiple incidents within a short period.
The case has attracted considerable attention because of the frequency of the arrests and the fact that the allegations were made within a period of less than two weeks.
Court and law-enforcement records cited by media reports also indicate that Asare has had numerous previous encounters with authorities since 2022.
