An accused person who jumped bail and was re-arrested has managed to escape once again from the Police Hospital in Accra.
Daily Guide learnt that the suspect, Clement Adjei Nkrumah, was being investigated over a reported case of defrauding by false pretences in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis but jumped bail in court and was re-arrested in Accra.
As the accused was being sent back to Takoradi last Friday, he feigned sickness at the Takoradi-Accra lorry station in Accra.
Detective Inspector Eric Nyame of Kwesimintsim District Police Command, who led some personnel of the CID to re-arrest him, then decided to take the suspect to the Police Hospital.
Daily Guide learnt that immediately the handcuffs were released from his hands at the medical facility, Clement Adjei Nkrumah took to his heels and has since not been found.
The escape of the accused person has put the hard-working Detective in trouble since Clement Adjei Nkrumah escaped allegedly under his watch.
The Detective, according to information gathered, would be given the mandatory 10 days to look for the accused and would also be made to answer a query as to why a disciplinary action must not be taken against him for allowing the suspect to escape.
When Daily Guide contacted the Western Regional Police Command, its Public Relations Officer, DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku said she also heard the story but could not give details because the alleged incident happened in Accra.
