Speaker Bagbin Urges NDC and NPP to Address Core Weaknesses

Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has called on Ghana’s two major political parties, the NDC and NPP, to confront and resolve their fundamental weaknesses to strengthen democratic governance.

Speaking at a recent political forum, Bagbin emphasized that both parties must take a hard look at internal challenges, including organizational inefficiencies, communication gaps, and policy inconsistencies, to better serve the Ghanaian public. He urged party leaders to prioritize internal reforms that enhance transparency, accountability, and effective leadership.

The Speaker highlighted that addressing these issues is critical not only for party growth but also for maintaining public trust and ensuring a robust democratic process. He stressed that political maturity requires self-reflection and a commitment to improving governance at all levels.

Bagbin’s call comes amid ongoing debates about party performance, electoral preparedness, and the need for stronger institutions to support Ghana’s democratic development. His remarks are seen as a reminder that political parties must continuously evolve to meet the expectations of citizens.
