Ghanaian Reggae Dancehall musician Shatta Wale has warned bloggers in Ghana and Africa as a whole against putting songs enlisted on his new international project on their websites for free download.

Shatta Wale who, arguably owns one of the biggest fan bases and catalogue of songs in the country, is one of the strong crusaders of music streaming online rather that free downloads.

He, therefore, rehashed this warning he gave some time back when he fully embraced music streaming.

The Borjor hitmaker recently announced his involvement in a music project dubbed ‘Tropical House Cruises To Jamaica (Reggae Collector’s edition)’ which features international superstars such as Sizzla, Beenie Man, Peetah Morgan, Elephant Man, Capleton, Mojo Morgan, Don Yute, Vybz Kartel and Tommy Lee Sparta among others

Known in real life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, Shatta Wale is the only Ghanaian and African musician on the project, making an entry with Dream.

Barely 12 hours after the project was officially released worldwide across various music streaming platforms, Shatta Wale has urged his fans and followers across the globe to stream and enjoy the ‘Tropical House Cruises To Jamaica’ project.

He tweeted: “To the bloggers in Ghana, Africa, for once, this is an international project; don’t disgrace yourselves by uploading the songs for free on your websites. Respect the rules of copyright violation and do the right thing…#StopFreeSongUpload #TropicalHouseCruisesToJamaica.”

Online music streaming is a system through which creative artistes can display, market and sell their products and services digitally and reap monetary benefits. It also connects all creative artistes together and exposes them to endless opportunities in the digital space.
