Regional Minister lauds Asantehene for his contributing immensely to the development of the region

The Ashanti Regional Minister Hon Simon Osei Mensah has lauded His Royal Majesty, the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II for contributing immensely to the development of the region.

 

 

The minister disclosed that, the Asantehene has been a major pillar to the many successes the region has chalked since ascending the throne over two decades ago.

 

 

Hon Simon Osei Mensah said this on Tuesday December 20, during the second edition of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council’s meeting for the year 2022.

 

“As we are all aware, the Asantehene has been behind the scenes pushing the development of Ghana, particularly the Ashanti Region ahead for so many years , and 2022  was no different “.

 

 

“On behalf of the regional Coordinating Council, i want to thank Otumfour Osei Tutu II for his guidance and support to the government in its quest to improve the standard of living for residents in the region”.

 

Asantehene’s Contribution to Peace

 

 

Hon Simon Osei Mensah again applauded the Asantehene for his sterling leadership that has seen the maintenance of peace in the country.

 

Hon Simon Osei Mensah believes the Asantehene’s commitment to Ghana’s peace has reflected throughout the country with the Ashanti region being direct beneficiaries.

 

The region is lucky to have Otumfour, because he has served as the beacon of unity and progressive development in the region”

 

“He has been a standing legacy of upholding peace in Ghana, something that has endured to the development of Ghana”.

 

 

About the Meeting

 

Touching on the meeting, the Ashanti Regional Minister said it was mandatory for the Coordinating Council to meet twice a year to discuss and review the development of the region.

 

To fulfill the constitutional requirements, the council held its first meeting in June this year with the second one coming off in the middle of December at the Prempeh Assembly Hall.

 

The meeting which brought together all 43 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, their presiding members, all heads of agencies and departments, among others was focused mainly on how the assemblies can manage their finances well and improve on internal revenue mobilization.
