President Mahama Breaks Ground for Poultry, Meat, and Feed Processing Factory in Bechem

President John Dramani Mahama has officially broken ground for a new Poultry, Meat, and Feed Processing Factory in Bechem, a move set to boost Ghana’s agricultural sector and promote local production.

The project, aimed at enhancing food security and supporting local farmers, will focus on poultry farming, meat processing, and the production of animal feed. Government officials highlighted that the facility will help reduce Ghana’s reliance on imported meat and poultry products while creating numerous jobs for residents in Bechem and surrounding communities.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, President Mahama emphasized the importance of investing in agribusiness and rural development. He noted that the factory would serve as a vital source of employment across various roles, including farming, processing, logistics, and factory management. It is also expected to supply local markets and retailers, contributing to the stability of food prices.

Stakeholders praised the initiative, stating that the factory has the potential to stimulate economic growth, strengthen Ghana’s food supply chain, and provide a platform for local farmers to expand their operations. Construction has commenced, with anticipation building around the positive impact the facility will have on the community and the nation’s agricultural output.
