President John Mahama urges Black Stars to stay focused after victory over Chad

Following Ghana’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, President John Dramani Mahama expressed his delight, revealing that the win restored his appetite after earlier concerns about the emotional toll of watching the Black Stars play.

Before the match, Mahama had shared that he was advised to eat before watching the game due to the stress football brings him.

However, after witnessing the dominant display by Otto Addo’s men, he was in high spirits.

“I had a good appetite for dinner after the Black Stars’ 5-0 victory. Congrats, guys!” he posted, celebrating the crucial win.

Despite the resounding result, Mahama urged the team to remain focused and not become complacent, emphasizing that the victory should be the start of rebuilding the connection between the team and Ghanaians.

“Let this victory not make us complacent. This should be the beginning of bringing back the LOVE,” he added.

With Ghana now leading Group I, attention turns to the next crucial fixture against Madagascar on Monday in Morocco.

Mahama and millions of Ghanaians will be hoping for another strong performance to edge the Black Stars closer to securing a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup
