Police Rescue 9 Soldiers After Clash with Angry Youth in Ahafo-Hwidiem

Police in the Ahafo Region have rescued nine military officers who were reportedly attacked by an angry group of young men in Hwidiem.

According to eyewitness accounts, tensions flared after a misunderstanding between the soldiers and some local residents. The confrontation quickly escalated, forcing police officers to intervene to prevent the situation from getting out of control.

A video circulating on social media shows the soldiers surrounded by a crowd as chaos ensued. The arrival of a police reinforcement team helped restore calm and safely extract the military officers from the area.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine what triggered the attack and to identify those responsible. Regional leaders and security experts have also called for calm and urged better cooperation between the military, police, and civilians to avoid future confrontations.
