Police Dismantle Notorious Highway Robbery Gang After Multiple Attacks

The Ghana Police Service has successfully dismantled a dangerous highway robbery syndicate believed to be behind a series of violent attacks on motorists across major roads in the country.

According to police reports, the gang had been terrorising road users with firearms, targeting travellers during night and early-morning journeys. Several incidents linked to the group involved the use of weapons, creating fear and insecurity among commuters.

Following weeks of intelligence-led investigations, law enforcement officers launched a coordinated operation that led to the arrest of key suspects connected to the syndicate. During the operation, police recovered weapons believed to have been used in the attacks, including firearms.

The police say the breakthrough forms part of a broader strategy to enhance security on Ghana’s highways and protect citizens from organised criminal activity. Authorities have assured the public that efforts are ongoing to track down any remaining accomplices and prevent further incidents.

Motorists and travellers have been encouraged to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities along major routes.
