Police Arrest Three Suspects, Recover Firearms in Afienya Robbery Operations

The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects and recovered firearms following a series of intelligence-led operations targeting robbery activities in Afienya and its surrounding areas.

According to a police statement, the arrests were carried out by officers from the Police Special Support Unit after receiving credible intelligence about criminal activities along the Afienya corridor. The suspects are believed to be connected to multiple robbery incidents that had created fear among residents and commuters in the area.

During the operation, police retrieved firearms suspected to have been used in the commission of the robberies. The recovered weapons are currently being examined as part of ongoing investigations aimed at dismantling the criminal network involved.

The suspects are presently in police custody, assisting with investigations, and are expected to be processed in accordance with the law. Police have indicated that further arrests may follow as investigations continue.

The Ghana Police Service reiterated its commitment to ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order across the country. Authorities also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and to report suspicious activities to help support ongoing crime-fighting efforts.
