Police Arrest Prophet Fire Oja Over Alleged Defamation of Mzbel

The Ghana Police Service has arrested controversial religious figure Jedidiah Henry Kore, popularly known as Fire Oja, following allegations of defamation and related offences filed by veteran Ghanaian musician Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, popularly known as Mzbel.

According to police reports, Mzbel lodged a formal complaint after Fire Oja allegedly made statements that defamed her character and disrupted public order. The police confirmed that the arrest was part of their efforts to address claims by public figures that could potentially harm others or violate the law.

The specific charges against Fire Oja have not been fully disclosed, but authorities confirmed that the matter is under criminal investigation and will be handled through the judicial system.

Fire Oja, known for his outspoken religious pronouncements, has previously attracted media attention for controversial statements and actions. His arrest is expected to generate significant public interest given his prominence in Ghana’s religious landscape.

Mzbel, through her representatives, welcomed the police action, emphasizing that public figures must be held accountable for statements that spread falsehoods and damage reputations.

Police have urged the public to allow the legal process to take its course and to refrain from speculation until further updates are provided by the courts.
