Pink FM’S Abrewabi Nana Wins The Most Influential Female Personality In The Central Media Awards 2020

Pink Fm’s news anchor Spendylove Kumi Joyce known on air as Abrewabi Nana Akosua Kumiwaa has won the most influential female personality in the 2020 edition of Central Media Awards (CMA) in which her colleague Akyenkwaa Nana Odehyekrokron Akwasi Appiah won the best male news caster.

The program which was organised by eZone network was held on Sunday 2nd February 2020 at Odehye hotel in Kasoa saw many media practitioners, nominees and their supporters.

Abrewabi Nana last year trampled over her competitors to emerged the best female newscaster in 2019 edition which she dedicated to her grandma.

About Abrewabi Nana 

Spendylove Kumi Joyce is her name and a native of Aflao in the Volta region but was born and bred at mabang in the Ashanti region of Ghana.

She was born by Mr Collinson Kumi and late Agnes Ahanu but was adopted by grandma at the age of six (6) months.

She started her basic education at mabang Presby primary and completed mabang senior high technical.

She relocated to Accra and further trained as a media practitioner at Icon school of broadcasting and journalism.

After her internship with sefwi Asawinso based De Beat Fm, she worked as marketing person and later promoted to acting marketing Manager at radio rainbow at  sefwi Juaboso.

Abrewabi joined Unity FM at Tepa as an Akan newsreader and Deputy News editor in 2012 but later moved to Nananom Fm at Goaso as an akan newsreader. She was later appointed as the news editor and currently she is a news anchor with Kasoa based radio station pink FM.

Speaking to the media, Abrewabi Nana said her aim to empower the society especially women to go every length   that they have dreamt of in this noble male dominated profession.

She always voiced out that women shouldn’t be limited, discouraged or give up because of their gender with her favorite quote from the late Efo Kojo Mawugbe” in the chest of a woman is not just a feeble heart but a burning desire and passion to possess and use power”.

Also to empower the less privileged kids but brilliant with her great God given talents. Amazingly she even adopted 11yr old class 5 boy during her internship and now in the University of Cape Coast under her supervision.

She then dedicated her award to her late mum Agnes Ahanu who passed on last year August 20th when her grandma who adopted her was laid in state.
