Passport Office in Savannah Region to Boost Travel, Tourism and Development — MP Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimiah

The Member of Parliament for the Salaga South Constituency, Hon. Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimiah, has stated that the establishment of a Passport Office in the Savannah Region will create new opportunities for residents to travel, gain exposure to other cultures, and return home with knowledge and skills that can contribute to national development.
Speaking to the media, Hon. Zuwera explained that travel and cultural exchange play a vital role in development, as exposure to different societies helps people better appreciate their own traditions while learning new ideas and practices. She noted that this exchange of experiences has contributed significantly to the growth and progress of many countries around the world.
The MP further emphasized that the Savannah Region possesses immense tourism potential, citing its rich eco-cultural heritage and natural attractions. According to her, the establishment of the Passport Office, together with other development initiatives, will help open up the region to both local and domestic tourism. This, she said, will generate revenue, create business opportunities, and promote the region’s cultural and environmental assets.
Hon. Zuwera also expressed her gratitude to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa, on behalf of the chiefs, youth, and people of the Savannah Region, for facilitating the establishment of the Passport Office. She described the initiative as timely and strategic, especially at a period when many Ghanaians are preparing to travel for major global events such as the upcoming World Cup.
She concluded by stating that the people of the Savannah Region are ready to take full advantage of the new Passport Office to enhance mobility, tourism, and socio-economic development across the region.
