OB Amponsah wins America’s Ultimate Comic Challenge

Ghanaian comedian OB Amponsah has made history by winning the 2025 edition of the Ultimate Comic Challenge, hosted by The Idiot Box Comedy Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The electrifying final featured some of the region’s top comedic talents, with OB edging out runner-up Seth Payne and third-place Jay Stadler to claim the coveted title.

Sharing his excitement on social media, OB wrote: “Holy smokes! We won gold! God is good! I am the Ultimate Comic. Can you believe that? Damnnn!”

He expressed gratitude to the organizers, fellow contestants, and the Greensboro comedy community, describing the win as “surreal” and “beyond ecstatic.” He also gave a special shoutout to comedy club owner Jennie Stencel for her support, adding that it was an honor to share the stage with fellow finalists Seth, Troy, Artsy, Ethan, and Jay Stadler.

The win cements OB Amponsah’s growing reputation as one of Africa’s most versatile comedians, with a rising profile on the international comedy scene.
