NDC chairman shot dead in Upper West region
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairman for the Dafiama Bussie Issa Constituency, Mr. Poulabong Bayiilela Rachard aka Chairman Water has been shot dead by unidentified gang.
The incident occurred Monday night at Sagu, on the Wa-Tumu Road in the Upper West region, DailyMailGH can confirm.
According to close associates, the deceased was returning from a funeral when the sad incident happened.
His lifeless body has since been deposited at the Upper West regional Hospital for autopsy.
The deputy director of elections in the region Osman Seidu said they cannot rule out foul play.
“The NPP regional chairman is from that constituency and they are working very hard to take that constituency,” Seidu told Daily Mail GH.
“It’s a very big blow to the party and not only in the constituency but the region at large,” he added.
The police are investigating the case.
