May God Treat Mahama Like He did Nana Addo In 2012– Council of Zongo Chiefs

The Ashanti Regional President of the Council of Zongo Chiefs, who doubles as Frafra Chief Naaba Musah Akambounga, categorically claimed that the members of the association will continue to pray to God (Allah) to let what happened to President Akufo-Addo and NPP in 2012 in the Supreme Court happen.

After the 2012 general election results declaration by the Electoral Commission headed by Dr Kwadwo Adrai Gyan, the NPP led by then party presidential nominee Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo petitioned the Supreme Court.

After several months of hearing and reviewing the facts, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the NDC and the then President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama.

This time around, the NDC led by former President John Dramani Mahama has asked the Supreme Court to challenge the presidential election results for 2020, which it described as faulty.

But in an interview with Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo monitored by Mynewsghana, the Ashanti Regional President of the Council of Zongo Chiefs Chief Naaba Musah Akambounga said “We all know what happened to NPP and President Akufo-Addo in 2012 when they appealed to the Supreme Court, we also pray to NDC and John Dramani Mahama for the same thing to happen.

Chief Akambounga said: “NDC and John Dramani Mahama have every right to a jury trial to appeal the results of the election, but we trust that Allah will make NDC and John Dramani Mahama lose the verdict of the Supreme Court.”

However, Chief Naaba Musah Akambounga charged former President John Dramani Mahama of informing NDC members to stay away from fighting and protest as the Supreme Court works on their case.
