Man dies after suspected poisoning at birthday party; six arrested

The Dormaa Ahenkuro Police in the Bono Region have arrested six individuals to assist in investigations following the sudden death of a young man after a birthday celebration on Thursday night.

The deceased, identified as Enoch and popularly known by his nickname “Obinna,” reportedly died after being rushed to the Dormaa Ahenkuro Presbyterian Hospital.

Adom News sources reveal that Enoch began experiencing severe stomach pains shortly after attending a birthday celebration hosted by a female acquaintance. He had been at the event with several friends, including an immigration officer.

Initially, he believed the discomfort stemmed from the varieties of beverages consumed during the gathering. However, his condition worsened rapidly, prompting the immigration officer to rush him to a medical facility.

At the hospital, doctors diagnosed him with suspected poisoning, but Enoch passed away shortly while receiving treatment.

In response, the police have apprehended six individuals who were present at the party to assist with ongoing investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Meanwhile, the bereaved family is demanding a thorough and transparent investigation, urging law enforcement to expedite efforts to uncover the truth and bring any responsible parties to justice.

The case has sparked widespread concern within the community, with many calling for heightened awareness and caution during social gatherings.
