Man Demands Ex-Girlfriend Abort Pregnancy Over Monthly GH¢1,200 Expense

A Ghanaian man has sparked controversy after reportedly demanding that his ex-girlfriend terminate her pregnancy following their breakup. The dispute reportedly started over GH¢1,200 he claimed to have spent monthly on her menstrual products.

The woman, identified as Abigial, revealed that the man cut off contact once she became pregnant and insisted that she must have an abortion if she expected any financial support. She explained that he had previously covered her monthly sanitary expenses, which he now cited as justification for his demand.

The case has generated widespread outrage on social media, with many condemning the man’s actions as unethical and abusive. Advocates for women’s and child rights have also weighed in, highlighting the need for stronger legal protections and social support for pregnant women in vulnerable situations.

Abigial is reportedly exploring her options, seeking both legal advice and emotional support as she considers her next steps. The incident has reignited conversations in Ghana about partner accountability, reproductive rights, and the challenges women face when navigating pregnancies in unstable relationships.
