Madina Court Sentences Two Nigerians for Attempting to Obtain Ghana Cards Fraudulently

The Madina District Court II has sentenced two Nigerian nationals to 12 months in prison each for attempting to acquire Ghana Cards using false identities.
The defendants were caught after submitting fraudulent documents in an effort to register as eligible Ghana Card holders. Evidence presented in court confirmed that they deliberately provided counterfeit information, violating Ghana’s laws governing identity registration.
The sentencing underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the Ghana Card system and protecting national identity databases. Legal authorities emphasized that such offences will not be tolerated, and strict measures will continue to prevent identity fraud.
Officials expect the ruling to serve as a warning to anyone attempting similar fraudulent activities and to reinforce the need for robust verification procedures for all applicants.
