Live Updates: EPL Transfer deadline day

Published

on

It’s a big busy day in the England as we wind down the clock on the Premier League transfer window.

The official FIFA transfer deadline for England remains at September 2, but clubs in the top two divisions of English football resolved two seasons ago to have the window closed before the season begins so by 16:00 Ghana Time, EPL and Championship clubs would have been done with their deals though paper work could be completed by 12:00 GMT.

Already clubs have been active in this window, breaking existing records as they look to improve their squads for the upcoming season.

Manchester United had to break the world record fee for a defender to bring in Harry Maguire in an £80million deal.

Arsenal have also set a new club record with the acquisition of Ivorian international Nicolas Pepe from Lille.

Manchester City yesterday announced the signing of Cancelo from Juventus with Danilo going the other way.

Liverpool have been unsurprisingly quiet in this window and so is Chelsea who owe their silence to a transfer ban.

Aston Villa have been the busiest of all of the clubs, signing over 11 players including Tom Heaton, Marvelous Nakamba and Tyron Mings.

But there is still much to expect today with Arsenal set to announce two new arrivals according to Sky Sports and BBC.

Romelu Lukaku is almost through with his move to Inter Milan so United will be searching for a replacement and Inaki Williams and Llorente have been rumoured to be of interest to Solskjaer.

Everton have bids for Iwobi and Zaha rejected by Arsenal and Palace respectively but they are expected to go back for either of them with Zaha being their first option.
