Investigation Ongoing into Ghanaians Involved in QNET Scams – Okudzeto Ablakwa

Parliamentary oversight has revealed that the investigation into Ghanaians involved in QNET scams is ongoing, with authorities actively pursuing both perpetrators and victims of the multi-level marketing scheme. Member of Parliament Okudzeto Ablakwa highlighted in a recent parliamentary session the growing concern over the number of young Ghanaians trapped in fraudulent activities linked to QNET across West Africa.
According to government sources:
-
Over 500 Ghanaians have reportedly been ensnared in QNET scams in Côte d’Ivoire, prompting heightened monitoring by law enforcement agencies.
-
The Economic & Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in Kumasi recently arrested 320 people connected to QNET, including 295 individuals believed to be victims rather than perpetrators.
-
Separately, 202 trafficked Ghanaians were rescued and repatriated from Nigeria, where they had been lured under the guise of employment opportunities linked to QNET.
Ablakwa stressed that the investigations aim to protect young Ghanaians from exploitation while holding those responsible accountable under the law. He called on families, educational institutions, and the media to educate the youth about the dangers of such schemes, emphasizing that vigilance is crucial to prevent further victimization.
Authorities continue to collaborate with regional and international agencies to dismantle the network, recover lost funds, and ensure justice for those affected. The ongoing investigations underscore the urgent need for public awareness campaigns to safeguard young Ghanaians from multi-level marketing scams and human trafficking disguised as employment opportunities.
