I don’t have the required CAF coaching license – John Paintsil
Former Black Star defender and current coach of Premier League side Wa All Stars, John Paintsil has revealed that he may not be qualified to coach his side in this season’s Ghana Premier League because he does not have the CAF license A coaching certificate.
Starting this season, holding a CAF license A Coaching certificate is a requisite for a Ghana Premier League coach as per the directives from the GFA Club Licensing Board headed by Dr Kwame Baah-Nuako.
Paintsil, who is now the bankroller of Wa All Stars after taking over the club’s ownership from former GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi made the revelations about his ineligibility to handle the Wa based club in an interview with the Kumasi based Fox FM.
“I don’t have a CAF License A certificate; I have done that of South Africa which is equivalent to a license C certificate here in Ghana”
“I have made a request from the Club Licensing Board, if they accept fine but if they don’t then one cannot do anything than to wait and acquire the needful certificate before,” he added.
This means that Wa All Stars will be on the hunt for a new coach who meet the requirements from the Club Licensing Board as the start for the Ghana Premier League draws nearer.
