Heavy Rainfall Causes Flooding and Traffic Chaos at Kaneshie‑Pamprom, Accra

Parts of Accra experienced severe flooding on Friday morning after heavy rainfall hit the Kaneshie‑Pamprom area, leaving commuters stranded and traffic at a standstill.

The sudden downpour caused streets to become submerged, making it difficult for vehicles and pedestrians to navigate. The normally busy commercial hub quickly descended into chaos as motorists struggled to move through the flooded roads.

Residents and local witnesses reported that the water levels rose rapidly, catching many off-guard. With the area’s drainage systems already under strain, the flooding highlighted ongoing infrastructure challenges in the city.

City officials are yet to provide a detailed assessment of the impact, but residents are urging authorities to take urgent measures to improve drainage and prevent similar incidents in the future.
