Government, BADEA Sign MoU to Boost 24-Hour Economy and Export Development

The Government of Ghana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) to support the country’s vision of building a 24-hour economy while strengthening export development. The agreement was signed at the Bank of Ghana, marking a significant step in efforts to enhance industrial growth and economic competitiveness.
Under the partnership, BADEA will provide both technical assistance and financing to modernize critical sectors of the economy. The initiative aims to create an enabling environment for round-the-clock business operations while boosting Ghana’s export capacity in industries such as manufacturing, agro-processing, and services.
Government officials noted that the collaboration is timely, as Ghana seeks to diversify its economy and open new opportunities for small and medium-scale enterprises. They expressed optimism that the deal will attract investments, create sustainable jobs, and help businesses expand into global markets.
Representatives from BADEA also reiterated their commitment to supporting Ghana’s long-term development agenda, highlighting the importance of strategic partnerships in driving Africa’s economic transformation.
The MoU has been widely welcomed as a bold step toward building resilience in Ghana’s economy, improving infrastructure, and unlocking new growth potential.
