Gospel Musician Essi Donkor To Donate Exercise Books To Ekumfi Akwansa Kokodo D/A Primary
Fast-rising gospel musician Essi Donkor is set to make a donation of exercise books to the Ekumfi Akwansa Kokodo D/A Primary School as part of an initiative by her foundation.
The donation will be the maiden project of the foundation, with the musician indicating that she has decided to begin her philanthropic activities from her hometown, where her journey in music started.
Essi Donkor, who hails from Ekumfi Kokodo in the Central Region, said the decision to support the school is deeply personal because of the connection she has with the community and its role in shaping her early life.
Speaking in an interview, she said plans are far advanced for the donation, adding that the initiative will not be limited to her hometown.
“Ok, I plan to start from my hometown first because that’s where everything started. Plans are far advanced. Neighboring towns won’t be left out,” Essi Donkor said.
The gospel musician’s journey in music began at a young age through the church, where she developed her passion for singing and later took up leadership responsibilities in the music ministry. She has since progressed into recorded gospel music, releasing her debut single M’aseda in 2024, followed by Hallelujah in 2026.
According to Essi Donkor, giving back to the community is part of her desire to make a positive impact beyond music. She believes supporting children with basic educational materials can contribute to their learning and development.
The exercise book donation to Ekumfi Akwansa Kokodo D/A Primary will therefore mark the beginning of what she hopes will become a broader community-focused initiative.
She further indicated that neighbouring communities will also benefit from future activities of the foundation as the initiative expands.
Essi Donkor is gradually establishing herself in Ghana’s gospel music space, combining her music ministry with efforts aimed at supporting communities and inspiring young people.
