Ghana vs Uruguay: Starting 11 for Ghana revealed
Uruguay picked up just one point from their first two games and so even a win over Ghana in their final Group H outing is no guarantee that they will progress.
Below are the projected lineups for both teams based on the latest news leading up to the match.
-Ghana Predicted Starting 11
(4-2-3-1, right to left): 1-Ati-Zigi (GK) — 2-Lamptey, 18-Amartey, 4-Salisu, 14-Mensah — 5-Partey, 21-Abdul Samed — 20-Kudus, 10-A. Ayew, 9-J. Ayew — 19-Williams.
After his side kept their hopes of progression alive with a 3-2 win over South Korea last time out, Otto Addo could be tempted to stick with the same 11.
That would mean Gideon Mensah, Tariq Lamptey and Jordan Ayew all retaining their places after missing out on the defeat to Portugal that kicked off Ghana’s tournament.
-Uruguay Predicted Starting 11
(3-5-2, right to left): 23-Rochet (GK) — 2-Gimenez, 3-Godin, 19-Coates —13-Varela, 15-Valverde, 6-Bentancur, 5-Vecino, 16-Olivera — 11-Nunez, 9-Suarez.
Although a switch to a 3-5-2 didn’t quite pay dividends against Portugal, Alonso may stick with the same shape and try partnering Luis Suarez with Darwin Nunez this time around hoping for different results.
