Ghana to Launch Passport Centres in All Newly Created Regions — Ablakwa

Ghana is set to bring passport services closer to its citizens with the planned commissioning of passport centres in all newly created regions, according to Member of Parliament Samuel Atta-Ablakwa. This initiative is aimed at improving accessibility for Ghanaians who previously had to travel long distances to apply for or renew their passports.
Ablakwa highlighted that the move is a historic step in decentralizing essential government services. By establishing dedicated passport facilities in every new region, the government seeks to reduce travel time, ease administrative burdens, and make the process more convenient for citizens.
The new centres are expected to cater to a wide range of people, including students, business professionals, and those traveling abroad for work or personal reasons. In addition to improving service delivery, the expansion will help reduce congestion in existing passport offices, ensuring faster and more efficient processing.
This development reflects Ghana’s commitment to extending crucial services to all regions, promoting equality in access, and enhancing citizen satisfaction. The commissioning of the passport centres is anticipated to significantly transform how Ghanaians interact with passport services nationwide.
