Garden boy murders couple for his shocking reason

A GARDEN BOY who was caught killing a couple in Lusaka, Zambia West, told police that he did it because he hadn’t been paid for three months.

Godfrey Phiri, who is 23 years old, was arrested for killing Bernard Chomba and his wife, Bwalya Chileshe, who lived in the Kasupe area and had not been seen for three days. Their bodies were found on November 19 about 30 meters from their house, and they had been dead for a while.

Police sources said that when Phiri was questioned, he said that he killed the Chombas because they hadn’t paid him in three months.

The sources said that C5 picked up Phiri, who was being held at the Kabwata Police Station, and moved him to the Lusaka Central Police Cells.

Before he was caught, the police started looking into what happened when they found bodies. Their sniffing led them to Phiri, who worked as a garden boy for the couple and lived in the Kalundu area.

Police said that while the couple was missing, their belongings were found all over the place and their car was gone.

But the police have found the car and the things that were taken from the victims’ homes.

In a statement to Kalemba, Zambia Police Deputy Spokesperson Danny Mwale said that they had found the silver Toyota Spacio, a TV, a fridge, two laptops, and three cell phones that they thought belonged to the dead couple.
