Family of Ehiamenkyene Murder Victim Appeals to IGP for Justice During Burial

The family of a woman who was murdered in Ehiamenkyene has renewed calls for justice, petitioning the Inspector General of Police (IGP) as the victim was laid to rest.

The burial, held on Saturday, January 3, drew relatives, friends, and residents of the community, who gathered to mourn her death and express frustration over the pace of investigations into the case. Emotions ran high as family members appealed to the police leadership to ensure that those responsible for the crime are identified and prosecuted.

According to the family, justice for their loved one is critical not only for closure but also for restoring public confidence in the security system. They stressed that the circumstances surrounding the murder have left the community shaken and fearful.

Community members who attended the burial echoed the family’s concerns, calling on law enforcement agencies to intensify efforts to bring the perpetrators to book. Many described the victim as peaceful and undeserving of such a tragic end.

Police investigations into the case are reportedly ongoing, with authorities assuring the public that no effort will be spared in pursuing justice. The family has expressed hope that their petition to the IGP will lead to decisive action and accountability.
