Didi Dramani to replace Maxwell Konadu as Black Stars deputy coach – Report
Former Asante Kotoko coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani is set to replace Maxwell Konadu as Black Stars assistant coach with just four months to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations according to reports from Happy FM sports desk.
Didi Dramani who is the assistant coach of Danish side Nordsjaelland will be joining head coach Kwesi Appiah and first deputy Ibrahim Tanko on the bench of the team at the tournament in Egypt in June.
The former Wa AllStars and Asante Kotoko coach, Konadu, who also doubles as the head coach of the Local Black Stars, has been asked by the GFA Normalization Committee to focus on the home-based national team.
The development will serve as a shock for Maxwell Konadu who was working to end Ghana’s trophy drought in Egypt with the rest of the technical team.
Konadu’s biggest feat was guiding the Black Stars B to place finish in the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in 2015 and he was also the coach of the team when they won the WAFU championship in 2017.
The former national under-17 female coach, Didi Dramani took over from Maxwell Konadu at Asante Kotoko in 2012 after GFA appointed Konadu as Black Stars assistant gaffer.
Ghana have qualified for their eighth straight time since 2006 and will face Kenya in the last qualifying game in March to decide who tops Group F.
Ghana has not won the AFCON title since 1982 and have managed to feature in two finals in the last decade.
