The Member of Parliament (MP) for Damongo who’s also Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor has announced a Gh¢10,000 reward for information that will lead to the arrest of the suspect in the gruesome murder of a female Police officer in Damongo, late Constable Asiedu Sandra.

This was disclosed by the Savannah Regional Minister Mr. Saeed Jibril Muhazu on behalf of the MP at the Savannah Regional Police Command today 3rd August 2021 when the minister paid a visit to Savannah Region Police Command to commiserate with them following the murder.

The stab wounded body of Constable Asiedu Sandra was found in her rented residence close to the Police command.

The Minister charged the public to fully assist the Police Service in its quest to arrest and prosecute the boyfriend of the late cop who’s the suspect in the murder and believed to be hiding in or around Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.

Hon. Jinapor in addition also presented a cash amount of Gh¢ 5,000 to the Regional Police Command in Damongo to facilitate their movement in these trying times and another Gh¢ 5,000 to the family of the late officer which is expected to be in Damongo later today.

The Savannah Regional Police Commander DCOP Enock Adu-Twum Bediako on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) thanked the MP Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor and the Savannah Regional minister for their support.

DCOP Adu-Twum said the police will protect informants of their identities who will provide credible information to them leading to the arrest of the suspect and therefore pleaded that the general public should assist the police to track the key suspect involved.

The late Police officer was allegedly killed by her boyfriend in Damongo, the Savannah regional capital with her body locked in the room for two days before it was broken into.

The body of the Policewoman has since been deposited at the Damongo Catholic Hospital morgue, awaiting autopsy.
