The Coalition of aggrieved customers of Gold Coast Fund Management (GCFM) in the Ashanti region has given the government five-day day ultimatum to retrieve their lock up investments else face a naked demonstration.
According to the aggrieved customers, the President and Chairman of Groupe Nduom of Groupe Nduom (GN), Dr Papa Kwasi Nduom and his Gold coast Fund Management Company have deliberately decided not to pay them their fixed deposits investment even though the investments have matured since June 2018.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday 18th February 2019 at the Kumasi Cultural center the public relations officer of the group Mr. Charles Nyame said, the uncultured attitude of Dr Nduom and his company has rendered some of the customers homeless and jobless since they are unable to pay their rents.
“we have invested our monies with Gold Coast Fund Management (GCFM) with the aim of facilitate the process for establishing and expanding our business ventures and helped in times of emergency but the situation has reserved, now our businesses are collapsing we are not able to cater for our children school fees, pensioners who have their retirement benefits locked up with Dr Nduom and his GCFM company are crying, some of them are homeless” Charles Nyame stated.
He also blamed the Bank of Ghana (BoG) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for their locked up investments.
“We are disappointed in Bank of Ghana (BoG) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), if they were proactive, it would have saved thousands of people from investing with Gold Coast Fund Management. Look at what has happened to our colleagues customers of Menzgold. We are not going to sit down unconcern so we are giving the government five-day ultimatum to ensure that our monies are paid. There would be no option for us to demonstrate f the government fails to pay us our monies” he threatened.
