Chief of Kotoku Sabama Joins GAF Recruitment, Says He’s “Fighting for My Own Future”

The Chief of Kotoku Sabama, Nii Adjetey Donkor, has taken an unconventional step by applying to join the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), emphasizing his desire to secure his personal future.
Nii Donkor appeared at the Eastern Naval Command in Tema for the medical screening stage of the ongoing GAF recruitment exercise. Despite holding a traditional leadership position, he explained that his decision to enlist is motivated by a commitment to his own development and a desire to inspire others, especially the youth, to consider careers in the security services.
Addressing the challenge of adapting to military discipline, the chief stated, “If they command me, I will also do it.” He added that joining the armed forces is not only a personal decision but also a message to his community about the value of service, dedication, and self-reliance.
