Audio: Spio accuses executive of NDC of hiding Kwasi Botchwey report to shield Mahama
It has emerged that about nine hundred thousand (900,000) members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) did not vote in the 2016 general elections.
Flagbearer hopeful of the opposition NDC, Dr Spio Garbrah, disclosed this on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Monday.
According to him, that revelation was part of Kwesi Botchwey’s Committee report which was never released for public consumption.
To him, the report which details how and why candidate John Mahama performed abysmally in last December’s election is revealing, hence the decision the party executives to hide it to shield some people in the party.
“NDC members are still not happy about the 2016 elections. It was revealed that about 900,000 people didn’t vote. Why do you think they have hidden the report? It’s because they realized that if it’s made public, it won’t help some leaders but if they continue to shield it, then how do we work towards perfecting the wrongs,” he quizzed.
According to him, the image of the party has been badly dented and needs rebranding, adding that such a rebranding can only be done with a new candidate leading the party.
Dr Spio Garbrah said he is the best bet of the party going into the 2020 general election.
