ashanti reg health directorate kick starts registration for free mosquito net today

The Ashanti Regional Health Directorate has kick started the registration of households in the region for the free distribution of insecticide treated mosquito nets.
The exercise which is scheduled to run from today 4th October through to 10th October 2018 according to authorities is expected to get close to 90 percent households registered.
An electronic system of household registration will be carried out by trained assistants and that unique codes will be generated for all registered households for the claiming of treated mosquito nets.
Trained registration assistants as disclosed as a way of identification will bear identification tags and will be visiting houses to take information on the number of persons in  the household, name of household heads, house number and telephone number.
“Registration Assistants will issue to registered persons cards with a unique code. The card with the code is a prove that a person has been registered and legible to receive a net.” health authorities noted.
Households that fail to register according to authorities will not be given mosquito nets.
Briefing the media in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Health Service Director Dr. Emmanuel Tinkorang  announced 13th-19th November as the period set aside for the free distribution of the mosquito nets, stressing that insecticide treated mosquito nets “will be given to only registered persons who present their CODE CARDS”.
