Veteran journalist and commentator Kwesi Pratt Jr. has questioned the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over what he describes as unequal pay between foreign and local coaches in Ghana football.
He raised concern over why foreign coaches are often paid significantly more than Ghanaian coaches, despite both groups being expected to deliver similar results for national teams.
Kwesi Pratt argued that this practice raises fairness issues and undermines the development and recognition of local coaching talent.
His comments have added to the ongoing debate about Ghana’s reliance on expatriate coaches for key national teams, including the Black Stars.
While some stakeholders have defended the use of foreign coaches based on experience and international exposure, others believe local coaches are equally capable if given the right support and opportunities.
The issue also reflects wider concerns about investment in Ghana’s football development structure, particularly in technical training and capacity building for local coaches.
Kwesi Pratt’s remarks have renewed calls for the GFA to reassess its policies and ensure more balanced treatment of Ghanaian coaches.
