Haruna Iddrisu and Adams Sukparu Involved in Fatal Road Accident in Ashanti Region

Ghanaian Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu and Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Technology Adams Sukparu were involved in a serious road accident in the Ashanti Region that resulted in multiple casualties.

The crash occurred near Kumawu, along a major highway connecting Kumasi and Accra, when a truck collided with a saloon car in which the two politicians were travelling. Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene to rescue victims and provide medical assistance.

According to preliminary reports, the accident claimed four lives, while several other people sustained injuries of varying degrees. Traffic on the highway was disrupted for hours as rescue teams worked to clear the wreckage and transport the injured to nearby health facilities for treatment.

Mr Iddrisu and Mr Sukparu were reported to be conscious after the accident and were receiving medical care. Their condition has not been officially disclosed, but party sources indicated they were stable.

The incident has renewed public concern about road safety in Ghana, with community leaders and political figures calling for improved road infrastructure, stricter enforcement of traffic regulations, and greater public awareness to prevent future tragedies.
