Ghanaian rapper Edem has expressed frustration after fellow artist Agbeko refused to participate in a rehabilitation programme at the Pantang Health Facility, despite extensive efforts to help him.
Edem revealed that he spent the day trying to motivate Agbeko, taking him from a salon to a restaurant to lift his spirits, before accompanying him to Pantang where professionals were ready to start his treatment. However, even after several hours of engagement, Agbeko declined to enroll in the programme.
Edem thanked his supporters, the VRMG team, and well-wishers for their efforts, but emphasized that participation in rehab requires consent, and no one can be forced into treatment.
The intervention comes amid growing concerns about Agbeko’s well-being. A viral video of him asking for money on the streets sparked public concern and highlighted his ongoing struggles with drug addiction. Edem’s attempt underscores the challenges faced by loved ones trying to support individuals battling substance abuse.
