Abronye Sparks Uproar After Attacking Kennedy Agyapong at Bawumia’s Jaman South Delegates Meeting

A heated scene unfolded at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates meeting in the Jaman South Constituency when Abronye, the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, launched a verbal attack on Kennedy Agyapong, causing outrage among party supporters.
The meeting, which was part of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign tour, was meant to foster unity and rally delegates ahead of the upcoming elections. However, Abronye’s comments about the Assin Central MP quickly shifted the mood from excitement to tension.
According to witnesses, Abronye criticised Agyapong’s recent remarks about the NPP leadership and accused him of being disrespectful toward the Vice President. His comments sparked strong reactions, with some delegates shouting in disapproval while others attempted to calm the situation.
Security personnel on-site had to step in to prevent the confrontation from escalating further as factions within the crowd began trading words.
Party elders in the constituency have since called for calm, urging both leaders and supporters to remain focused on the party’s collective goals rather than personal disagreements.
Observers say the clash reflects the growing internal friction within the NPP as key figures jostle for influence ahead of the 2024 general elections.
