The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed 12 establishments across parts of Lagos State over alleged persistent violations of environmental regulations.
The enforcement exercise was carried out on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in areas including Ogba, Idimu-Ikota, Ejigbo, LASU-Iba Road, Igando and Agodo-Egbe.
According to LASEPA, the affected establishments had previously received warnings, abatement notices and opportunities to comply with the agency’s directives but allegedly failed to take the required corrective measures.
Among the establishments sealed was the Celestial Church of Christ (Aduragbemi Parish) at Okerube Bus Stop in Ikotun. LASEPA cited noise pollution and non-compliance with its directives as the reasons for the action.
Several hotels, lounges and other businesses were also affected by the enforcement exercise.
Thrillz Lounge on Odusanmi Street in Ogba was sealed over alleged noise pollution and non-compliance.
Marvel Hotel & Suites in Igando was also shut for alleged noise pollution and failure to comply with LASEPA’s directives, while Keviz Hotel & Suites along LASU-Iba Road was cited for obstruction of duty and non-compliance.
DSN Hotel & Suites on the LASU-Igando Road and Rudaj Vegetable Oil on Igando Road were among other establishments sealed for alleged non-compliance.
Other affected businesses included Feixiang Plastic along the LASU-Ojo Road, Limas at Abaranje in Ikotun, and Nico Hotel & Suites along the Egbe-Isolo Road in Ejigbo.
Kobo Night Club in Agodo-Egbe was sealed over alleged noise pollution and non-compliance, while Master Furniture along Idimu-Ikota Road and Nikky’s Executive Bar & Lounge on Governor’s Road, Ikotun, were also shut for alleged non-compliance with the agency’s directives.
LASEPA said the enforcement was carried out in line with directives from the Lagos State Government aimed at ensuring compliance with environmental laws and protecting public health.
The agency said its actions were also intended to promote a cleaner, healthier and safer environment for residents across the state.
Speaking after the exercise, LASEPA General Manager Dr Babatunde Ajayi reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to enforcing environmental standards.
He urged business owners, facility operators, religious institutions, scrap dealers and residents to adopt environmentally responsible practices and obtain all necessary permits and approvals.
Ajayi also called on operators of establishments to comply with environmental regulations and cooperate with LASEPA during its monitoring and enforcement activities.
The latest exercise forms part of LASEPA’s continuing enforcement activities across Lagos.
The agency has indicated that it will continue monitoring establishments and taking enforcement action where operators fail to comply with applicable environmental requirements.
The affected establishments may be required to meet the agency’s compliance conditions before they can resume operations, subject to LASEPA’s procedures.
The enforcement has also highlighted that environmental regulations apply across different categories of establishments, including commercial businesses, hospitality facilities and religious institutions.
LASEPA has therefore encouraged operators to address environmental concerns promptly and maintain compliance to avoid enforcement measures.
