Truck loaded with coconut catches fire on Mankessim-Cape Coast highway

A truck fully loaded with coconuts has caught fire on the Mankessim-Cape Coast highway, prompting a swift response from personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

The incident occurred at Anomabo Wankam and involved a Man Diesel Truck with registration number GN 3859-17.

The vehicle was en route when the head of the truck suddenly caught fire, raising fears of a total loss.

Firefighters from the Mankessim Fire Station arrived on the scene in time and managed to contain the blaze and prevented it from spreading to the cargo area.

Thanks to their swift action, the truck’s load of coconuts was saved, and only the front portion of the vehicle suffered damage.

No casualties were recorded in the incident.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
