Addressing Parliament on Thursday, July 17, 2025, the Speaker noted that the nominations—made by President John Dramani Mahama—represent the final batch of deputy ministers to complete the current ministerial lineup.
The four nominees are:
- Dorcas Affo-Toffey – Deputy Minister-designate for Transport
- James Gyakye Quayson – Deputy Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs
- Mohammed Adam Sukparu – Deputy Minister-designate for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation
- Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah – Deputy Minister-designate for Health
Bagbin highlighted that the nominees bring to the table solid public service records, valuable experience, and a strong sense of integrity, qualities he believes will make them valuable additions to their respective ministries.
He confirmed that the nominees’ CVs and other relevant documentation have been forwarded to the Appointments Committee to facilitate the vetting process.
“The nominees have distinguished themselves in public service and possess the requisite publications, experience, and integrity to support the respective sector ministers in effectively discharging their duties.”
The Speaker expressed hope that the Committee will thoroughly review the nominees and act in the national interest.
