Municipal Chief Executive Officer for Sawla Tuna Kalba Municipality Hon Losina Barikisu appeared to have boosted the political fortunes of the ruling New Patriotic Party with her all inclusive leadership skills.

The former Regional NASARA Coordinator shook off competition from a pack of other aspirants to pick the MCE position for the STK District and have since unleashed her managerial prowess in the political space.

Having risen through the ranks and files of the New Patriotic as a Deputy Secretary to then Friends of Nana in 2012 to the regional NASARA Coordinator, Hon Losina Barikisu is beginning to pay the trust placed on her by HE Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo.

In an exclusive interview with constituents in the Sawla Tuna Kalba Municipality, Hon Losina Barikisu was described as the missing piece in the jig-saw puzzle for the ruling NPP.

“One thing I like about Hon Losina is her unification character. She is the type you can’t even hate. She accepts ideas from the ordinary party member and speaks to you politely so even you don’t get what you want but you at least get satisfied with her answers. That alone is beginning to change how the party grassroots perceive the leaders”, Ibrahim Naeem reveals.

When quizzed on the leadership of Hon Losina Barikisu, another constituent celebrated the short tenure of the incumbent MCE, calling her a true party member.

“Usually female leaders want to prove a point by insisting on their rights which is usually perceived to be arrogant. In the case of Hon Losina, you just have to boldly celebrate how she speaks to you as constituent devoid of your political affiliations. With some assistance and resources, she will boost the political fortunes of NPP in the constituency and the region at large”, another constituent added.

Hon Losina Barikisu , who is a nurse by profession, is the first female regional NASARA coordinator and has been heavily tipped to blossom beyond an MCE in the political ecosystem.

She was part of the Northern MMDCEs that participated in the 2021 Northern Development Summit at the Jirapa Dubai at the Upper West Region.
