Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra

Following the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), there have been mixed reactions from Nigerians.

Nnamdi Kanu was on Sunday, June 27, arrested by the Nigerian security agency and arraigned before the court on Tuesday.

As the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami announced Kanu’s arrest to the public, many have voiced out their opinions; with some excited by the news saying calm will now be restored to the Southeast, while others who support the call for Biafra think otherwise.

MyNigeria hit the streets of Accra, Ghana to speak to some Nigerians for their views on Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest.

Many called on the federal government to release the IPOB leader or face the wrath of the Biafrans.

A Nigerian residing in Accra, applauded the Nigeria security agency. According to him, this arrest proves that the security operatives in Nigeria are working.

Others called on the government to dialogue with Nnamdi Kanu to prevent protests and war from occurring in the country.
