MOGNORI BRIDGE FLOODED.
The bridge Linking Mognori and Murugu has been flooded as a result of the opening of the Bagri dam.
Residence of Murugu now crosses to Mognori and to Damongo through the use of canoes. This is the first time residence of the two communities are witnessing the over flooding of the water unto the bridge since it’s construction in 2013.
It is difficult now to identify the exact location of the bridge since it is submerged in the water. The Mognori river passes through the Mole national park which serve us source of drinking water to the animals in the park.
The river is also used as an eco-tourism site with tourist using it as a site for bird viewing and canoe safari. The high volume of the water is now very dangerous to anybody who attempts to play even around the water. Foodstuffs are locked up in Murugu which is one of the farming communities that supplies.
Northern Ghana with food. Schools reopened on Tuesday but teachers cannot cross to the village for academic work to begin. It is also very difficult for health personnel to go to work in Murugu,making life very miserable in the community.
The people. Of the two communities are therefore calling for government intervention by bringing in a boat to help them cross to and fro without any hindrance. In other news,the Tachali bridge linking Busunu and Daboya is also at the verge of flooding as a result of the Bagri dam spillage.
