Presenting the items to the authorities of Kumasi Children’s Home and the Central Prisons, Chairman of the Anigye3 keep fit club, Mr. Owusu Agyemang Kesse said the donations form part of the activities marking their 10th anniversary and social responsibility to help the needy.

“There are certain things that the government cannot do by itself, so as it is our social responsibility to help the needy,” he told thepressradio.com Benjamin Kwarteng.

Adding that, this was the contribution of the group towards the upkeep of inmates of the Home and the Children’s.

“These people are left alone but we don’t want them to feel being neglected. So we took it upon ourselves as social group to show passion to these people as they are also human beings. We are happy that they are happy today,” he added.

Mr. Owusu Agyemang urged the public to extend a warm welcome to the inmates when they are released but not to stigmatize and discriminate against them, to make them feel at home.

He appealed to other associations, individuals and groups to show compassion for the poor, orphaned and the underprivileged in society.

The Assistant Manager of the children’s home, Ms Georgina Aidoo, who received the items on behalf of the children, expressed gratitude Anigye3 Keep Fit Club for the assistance and urged corporate entities, organisations and individuals to carry out similar acts of benevolence for the under-privileged in society.
