One Student told thepressradio.com reporter that he finds it difficult crossing the river to school especially during the rainy season. “When it rains and I am coming from Dompoase to school at Adagya, I am always afraid. Sometimes my leg can enter the river and that can hurt me. This is the only bridge that links my house to my school,” he lamented.
When thepressradio.com visited the area, the deplorable fallen tree-bridge has divided due to flooding.
Assembly Member for the Adagya Electoral Area, Adams Emmanuel has appealed for urgent help to avert any disaster.
“Last year a student died in the river due to lack of footbridge so am appealing to the Assembly, Government and NGOs to intervene to avert any occurrence. He said efforts are being made to get authorities from the District Assembly to construct the footbridge have proven futile”. Hon Adams stated.
“I have bought metals gh¢700 and have written many letters to the Assembly to help me use the metals for the construction of the bridge but who is there to help. Am even afraid that the metals will go waste” he bemoaned.
“For the past 8years nothing has been done by the assembly to help the community” Hon. Adams Emmanuel added.
