13 year old girl killed by lightning two other sustain serious burns
Lightning has struck a 13-year-old girl to death while two others have sustained serious burns in Dowa district.
Dowa Police Spokesperson Sub-inspector Gladson M’bumpha confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the incident happened on Sunday night
According to M’bumpha, Ruth Benjamin, Melina Mpandang’oma aged 12 and Lofina Samalani aged 13 were chatting inside a house in Lovimbi Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chiwere and Ruth went outside the house while it was raining and that is where she was struck by lightning.
The two survivors were rushed to Dowa District Hospital where they are receiving treatment.
